Join us for a Flinn-Brown Fellows-only event at the Flinn Foundation on critical topics impacting the state of our democracy and civic life in Arizona. In partnership with Arizona Town Hall, Fellows will help to set the stage for similar discussions that will occur in communities across the state. Tara Jackson, president of Arizona Town Hall, will facilitate the Town Hall process with Flinn-Brown Fellows. This will be the first community program on the 2024 Arizona Town Hall topic: Civic Leadership and Democracy.
Key questions will be raised to bring diverse perspectives together to prioritize solutions and recommendations:
- What constitutes an effective democracy? How is it important to us individually, to our community, our state, and our nation?
- To what extent do our current political and civic systems support an effective democracy?
- What, if any, changes should we consider to our election processes, civic structures, or democratic institutions to support an effective democracy?
- What actions should be taken and by whom to make voting, electing, and our democracy more effective?
- What role should Flinn-Brown Fellows play in addressing these issues? What role, if any, will you commit to?
If you have questions or need additional information, email Dawn Wallace.
